Process
At Charlotte Payne Garden Design, we take pride in providing a comprehensive garden design process from start to finish. Here, we outline our process from the initial consultation to completion and aftercare.
The Garden Design Process: From Concept to Reality
This is where we first meet to discuss your ideas and hopes for your outdoor space. I can get a feel for the space, the surrounding area as well as your home and style. From there, I can type up notes from the meeting to create your unique brief and initial ideas for the project.
INITIAL CONSULTATION
01
The next step is to start coming up with mood boards and ideas from the initial consultation. The second meeting will be to see the first draft of the design which is a working drawing in pencil. Here we can make any adjustments or additions to the design that were missed from the first meeting. I like to work closely with each client to ensure the design is reflecting their wishes.
CONCEPTUAL PROPOSALS
02
The finalised design is then put to pen and labelled, all of my designs are drawn by hand for a more personal touch. Now I can get to work on the planting plan. I love working with assorted colour combinations and strive to create all year round interest in the garden. I'm passionate about plants and asses the conditions of each site before choosing the suitable plants for the design. During this time I can also create 3D computerised models if required.
DETAILED PROPOSALS
03
The construction details are finalised and sent off to the contractors along with the setting out drawing and scope of works detailing the specific materials for the design. These documents ensure that all the building work is done to a high standard and to the correct building regulations.
TENDER
04
After the project is complete and reviewed, aftercare advice is given to make sure the garden is properly cared for and keeps looking its best. I also offer additional future visits to advise on plant maintenance as the garden develops and make any necessary modifications.
